I couldn’t help but laugh at this. ๐Ÿ˜€

      Nice! Great news!

Also a thought on open season for mods, I would say NOT having a mod per section is wiser even in the long run. Some sections will have more load than others so it is sometimes better to allow all mods in all sections. You tend to catch more. (climbs off soapbox…)

I agree with this. Let all mods have access to all areas. Much better coverage that way

Don’t know the date and time yet … but it appears that the forums will open well prior to the entire website. I am told that we will be going live this week!

Obviously things will be heating up quickly so I’d ask everyone keep on their toes. We’re going to begin moderation with unlimited range, meaning that every mod will be able to moderate everywhere as opposed to assigning a mod or mods to particular forum areas. If it becomes problematic, we’ll quickly discuss and adjust as necessary.

We appear to all be in general agreement regarding “mild” moderation. Perhaps most importantly, make certain that you never edit without sending a PM to the individual being edited/moderated. The last thing we want to present to everyone is that we’re just a clone of the VCA. Regardless of reality, we need to concern ourselves with our appearance. Take the time to appear concerned and friendly, even to the complete assholes. Our moderation is absolute, so we’ve won the text battle before we begin. If we remain nice about it, we may make it all the less fun for trolls and lessen our load. If someone is out of control, address it on the forum, plead with the individual privately (at least make the attempt) and then bring it in here to discuss before banning.

This is going to be a work in progress, so let’s work as a team and allow for ongoing flexibility how things go. If we make a mistake, fess up, apologize and fix it.

I really don’t need to say much of the previous as everyone is pretty experienced in here, but less moderation is always better moderation.

Maybe we can have some fun along the way?

PS- Not that any of you knuckleheads would hesitate, but when I screw up, make it known to me.
