Same thing that happened to mine. Yours are worse but perhaps because I noticed the damage earlier.
My camber was off (-3.1 & -2.9). It took 3 track days probably because I was being really conservative during the first couple of track days as it was the first time I took the ACR on track. It also depends on the track. Some pavement is more abrasive than others and that causes people to switch to Hoosiers since they will last longer.
Going to position 1 on the wing will help with the front pushing so much but other than that, it seems like the Kumho are basically good for about 6 sessions. -
Well I’ve geo’d it and its still 2.7. I’m not that bothered by the wear in a short time. I can deal with that with lots of tires. I just want to understand why the left has both shoulders affected and I have to assume the high speed right handers at my local circuit-Silverstone- So if the left is taking more strain on the right handers maybe I need to fill it up a bit more with air? Just want to hear opinions on why the difference in wear between sides.

Right. I’m thinking that it probably is because there is so much down force on the rear, the front get lighter and in faster turns, the car pushes and the inside get eaten up.
I thought that the outside would get destroyed faster but it’s the opposite. From what I understand your hot PSI should not be more than 33PSI on all tires.I have brand new tires on the car (well, one track day on them now) and I’m not going to drive the car on the road between track days.
The tire in the picture has about 2000 miles on so perhaps that has an impact on the wear? The toe on the front and rear is basically nil now and it was more or less the same before the alignment. I don’t believe that it would have any real consequence on the tire wear.
I don’t have the problem on my Lotus as the tires wear very evenly. Then again, the geometry is different and I don’t have nearly as much aero on the Elise. -
Ok everyone below is a photo of my front tires after a couple of track days. They are positioned in the photo like you would have them on the front wheels – left/right. As you can see the left suffered inner and outer shoulder were whereas the right mainly inner wear. Looking at them in isolation you would say the left was perhaps under inflated whereas the right suffered from camber wear(which Btw is – 2.7 with very slight toe out.) I have maintained pressures religiously at 32-33 throughout and rotated left right and vice versa after about 4 sessions. Looking though in the context that I was driving a predominantly right hand cornered circuit it seems that the left tire was bearing most of the strain on the fast right handers. So if we assume this and after looking at the tire could I ask would there be any sense in increasing th he tire pressure on the left front compared to the right? Anyone put different pressures in left and right front tires on a regular basis or is this not desirable? Just asking opinions really. Note please rotate photo clockwise once to see the right position of tures20170626_091053.jpg
