I doubt it. I don ‘t think it has been tried. Most will put a Gen I steering wheel on a Gen II for tracking.

There is a thread on another club’s forum where some known, knowledgeable person says that the spline is the same but the connectors are different. Also some mention about it being 1/4 turn off due to “key guide”.
I thought that I remembered a picture of it being done; but, I can’t find it, so, maybe it was just a discussion about doing it. I agree that the Gen III wheel looks better.

Ok I have done it the gen 3 or 4 will work but the Gide key will have to be grin down on the steering wheel, a dremmel works great for that. The gen 2 wheel is keyed 90 deg off from the gen 3/4. Air bag connector work just fine..

You can also use the gen 2 wheel and put the gen 3-4 air bag on it it all fits
