The flex tube connected to the motor looks like where moisture is coming from and it leads right into the bottom of the motor. Maybe it's to let condensation evaporate up and out of the blower motor, but after letting the car sit for so long from the end of summer until now, the moisture settled into the lowest point (the motor) and when I turned it on for the first time yesterday, it just gave up?
Like I said, I've been here before, so changing it out isn't a problem. Just wondering if others have this same issue?
Some water does get on the blower motor from the a/c system. I pull the rubber hose off the side of the motor and put a couple of drops of motor oil inside the housing to lube the lower bearing (inside the blower motor) All gen 3 and 4 cars will show rust stains inside the motor if the ac is used a lot.
