I installed one in my 03. It’s not a direct swap as the pickup alone. I used the 08 pickup and pan.
Just the pickup, you will need to cut off the oil pump side of your old pickup, as well as the new one, then weld the old end onto the 08+. The angle the pickup inserts into the oil pump is different between both, also the older tube is slightly smaller diameter. The workaround for this is to swap in a 08+ timing cover and oil pump. The 08+ oil pan baffle is already cut to receive the swingarm. Your gen3 is only open for the static pickup.
Dan Lesser at Viper specialty has the best complete swingarm kit out there, actually an upgrade for gen4 in my opinion. It has improved oil pump and a few other proprietary tweaks. Pricey at $5k but you’re paying for his R&D as well as his precision machining.
I’m cheap and a DIY-er. If I didn’t get such a great deal on the setup I have, I was going to use the stock static pickup and make a bracket to mount this:

SnakeOyl/Viper PartsUSA has the gen 3 pans and swinging pickups in stock. Direct bolt ups. Same as what the comp coupes used.

Where’s the best place to buy the GenIV Oil Pickup ‘kit’? Also, anyone have any experience with installing one of these pickups, installation time, etc?
