The Gen 4 airbox is the same as the Gen 5 airbox, but it mounts slightly higher in the front with the Gen 5 cars (raised about 1/2″ if I’m not mistaken). Not sure if this is reflected in the K&N system for each or not.

Thanks for the info… from pics I’ve found they certainly look to be about identical, but it’s stuff like that 1/2″ that can make the difference in fitting or not.

Well… the short answer is… Nope, it doesn’t fit. LOL! Everything is able to mount up alright, however the Gen5 K&N airbox is about an inch too tall, at least on the passenger side. It hits the hood vent on that side, so the hood doesn’t go any further than the emergency hook. So options would be to trim the airbox down until it fits properly, or abort mission. Probably gonna be the latter…

That sucks to hear…I’m sure you’ll find someone with a Gen 5 that will buy it.

What about a gen IV intake?

Hey guys… anyone know whether there is a difference between the Gen4 and Gen5 K&N intake setup? I know K&N website shows 2 different models, but wasn’t sure whether having a Gen5 intake on a Gen4 car makes a difference in this situation. Any ideas?
