Lots to see and do in Florida, but July is really a cruddy time to come visit. Its way too hot and you can’t predict the storms. I would stick with somewhere up north. If Michigan is a possibility, you always have Mackinac, the UP, Sleeping Bear dunes, etc. A bunch of natural beauty.

Vancouver is beautiful this time of year, can only assume you might get lucky and catch Seattle during a really nice time of year. Never been though.

      Enjoy the trip!

NYC over the 4th is a nice trip. Much of Manhattan empties of all the residents and fills with tourists.

LOL I re-read my post and think I just dissed myself!

Fly into Milwaukee, rent a car and drive up to Door County , Wisconsin. Considered the Cape Cod of the Midwest and a lot fewer people there than on the East Coast. Lots of fun things to do, but stay on the Quiet Side —– South side of the pennisula. Check out Gordon Lodge just North of Bailey’s Harbor. Great little cabins , super breakfasts each mornings and plenty of stuff to do there. Another good place is the Blacksmith Inn on the Shore in Bailey’s Harbor – easy to get around the small town , but the benefit is simple to move around the entire area.. You can drive over to the other side of the peninsula and there are more quaint shops, winery in the middle of the island, and a phenomenal outdoor theatre with dynamite plays. Fun part is they let you bring your own food and wine, and you can sit down by the water’s edge and eat prior to going to a play.

Pacific Northwest. Oregon or Washington. The south is gonna be hot and humid. I would say come down to Arizona but much of this state will be hotter than a snakes ass in a wagon rut. So pac NW sounds cool. Seattle is nice. For that matter, San Francisco is always good to get to at least once.

      Good luck, enjoy

Thanks very much for the feedback guys.

I ended up booking a hotel just off the beach south of Malibu, California. I think she will like that.

What a coincidence. My girlfriend and I were just looking at east sister rock key. It’s surprisingly affordable for what you are getting. We can’t go there for a little bit because they refuse to take my I.O.Us (just spent the vacation funds on NVE) but perhaps in a year that may be our big trip. How cool that you have been there. I’ll text you later and ask you more about it if you don’t mind.

Good choice, Donk. That area of California is very beautiful and a good vacation spot. Especially if you have never been. Just be very aware of how bad the traffic gets in L.A. and try to avoid being on the road at rush hour. My brother used to live on his boat in Marina Del Rey in LA and we had a good time there. From Malibu you can take a ferry to Catalina Island for about 40 bucks and Catalina is awesome. Fun party spots/bars, some good restaurants, fun shopping for the wife. I highly recommend getting out to Catalina for the day. Have fun and let us know how it goes!

Looks like I’ll actually be home for July so we thought we would jump on a plane and head to the states and go on a little vacation.
The wife has always wanted to see Texas, Florida or Seattle. I mentioned maybe Washington, DC or New York. Maybe even Salt Lake City?

Not really enough time to do something tropical so it’s more of a chance of scenery for a week.

Any suggestions? Possibly even stay in Canada.
