      3-5 years is a good rule of thumb for a performance tire…..really closer to 3 max for an R compound. It’s not talked about, but I’d be willing to bet money a likely contributing factor in Paul Walker’s death (and the driver of the Carrera GT they were in) was the 8 to 9 year old tires they were driving at high speeds on. That article is okay for cars you’re going to be cruising and putting around in, but old tires on high performance cars don’t grip and they’re dangerous. 10 years on our cars is ridiculous.

      Good info for tire care and when to be concerned.

      Tires are always a discussion point. Many Vipers still being driven on original tires. Many Viper drivers are not aware of their Viper tires condition.
