He is the man for super performance but you still have people that just remember the old days. I think he is awesome. The Venom is something else !!!!

On February 14, 2014, the Hennessey Venom GT set a new world speed record for 2-seat sports cars by reaching a top speed of 270.49 mph (435.31 km/h). The test was performed at the Kennedy Space Center on the 3.2-mile Space Shuttle landing runway. Brian Smith, Director of Miller Motorsports Park, drove the Venom GT to its record speed. A representative from Racelogic, world-renowned maker of VBox GPS data-acquisition systems, was on hand to independently verify and document the Venom GT's highest recorded speed

Has he resolved all his past woes? I agree it’s been some time since I’ve read about the MANY negatives.

McLaren F1 achieved 241 mph on a Oval.

The Bugatti Veyron achieved 254.04 mph on a Oval.

SSC Ultimate Aero achieved 257 mph on a stretch of road in Nevada.

Then the Veyron Super Sport achieved 267 mph on a Oval.

Both the Veyron and the F1 reached their top speeds at Ehra-Lessien, which has a 5.5 mile straight doing approx. 120 mph off the corner.

The Shuttle runway at KSC is just UNDER 3 miles (2.8 Mi) and the Venom reached 270 mph from a 20 mph roll.

That runway is not nearly THAT smooth. I say throw some slightly different gears in and send it to germany. It’ll lick 280. Not bad for a stretched Lotus with a Vette motor.
