      Others may have a different experience, but the time that I tried to do that, CARFAX would not proceed.

      You might ask a Ford dealer to try and check on it for you.

      Per the Carfax website – CARFAX Reports are available for vehicles manufactured since 1981, when the 17-character VIN was standardized.

      Looks like Autocheck is the same since it requires 17 digits as well.

      Hopefully someone has a better, more accurate answer.

      Tens of thousands of repairs go unreported, and never show up on a report.

      Is anyone that has a Carfax (or similar) account able to run a report for an 11-digit VIN for me? Just trying to get more info on the history of a 1977 Ford Truck I’m looking to buy for my son.
