I’m assuming you want a RT/10 (as I did) since the ’92 was your first “love”. The GTS seems to go for higher prices than the RT. There were a number of upgrades on the Gen 2 that you might want to think about: Better suspension, anti-lock brakes (2001/2002), 450 hp/490 tq., redesigned chassis to reduce weight, air bigs, power windows and more. Many parts are easier to get with the Gen 2. Others on the forum are more knowledgeable than I. Good luck with your hunt.

I agree. Once I found out the 92 was a one off for parts it made it seem unrealistic for me. Plus after missing the lower prices a few years ago and getting cold feet, it’s just not a good idea.
I really like the 2002. The blue and white GTS is also so beautiful. There are so many for sale with rebuilt titles and god know what else hidden. That’s my biggest fear. Finally getting a Viper and taking on someone else’s headache.
But I got a year. Something has to pop up

After looking for months, I found my 2002 RT/10 on eBay. Only 100 miles from my house! Drove out there with my wife and it was a no-brainer…fell in love (again).

Best of luck in your search, Purchased mine in January and love it like the day I got it home, went the other way with a Gen 1 “95” wanted a little more of the raw drive and had to have side exhaust though I did add late Gen 2 wheels, spent months searching and found a great deal in California, drive it all the time and been a problem free car even at Az. 110 degrees… Searching was fun and you will probably change your mind a half dozen times along the way20190223_092103-1.jpg

Congrats Matt! Nice speaking with you during the process.

Hey everyone. Matt from NY here.
Been a Viper nut since the year they came out. I was just 12 when that happened but I was hooked. School folders, magazine pages taped to my bedroom wall, trapper keepers, etc.
Once out of college I made it my goal to own one by my 40th bday. Life has gotten in the way but the goal is still possible.
So my deadline is 51 weeks away. My max will probably be 35k. Don’t plan on taking out a loan so that’s the max max. Ideally I wanted the year I fell in love with but after researching and missing the boat a few years back, I don’t think getting a 92 is possible.
I’d love to hear opinions on what years are your favorite and why. I’m definitely into gen 1 and gen 2. I plan to enjoy the car but also wouldn’t mind making it an investment piece as well.
Any and all info is welcomed and I can’t wait to post my “new owner” thread soon.
