So if it was a "Houston VOA Club Dyno day", how come no invites were sent out?.Come on man it’s just a thread title. It was a gen IV V tuning day with Torrie and HPTuners. I did invite, you were out of town.
And per our phone calls you should be thrilled your car wasn’t on that dyno, that thing was terribly low.

Alex thanks for the pictures and vid, great cross section of gen IV and V cars.

Ok, now I get it. The thread title made it sound like it was a Club thing. Got it.

Looks like good times were had 🙂
Thanks for posting the pics 🙂
Interested to know? How do you guys hold the car in place, where do you hook the straps up to on the car, is there a set point?
I have heard of wishbones snapping, so do you wrap straps around a frame point?
-
Two rear factory tow hooks and through the wheel up front usually.

I would have rathered you be there in my place lol.I would have cried :). I’ll go to Serious and get a stock pull on the new one. I’m kinda scared though. My Aero Coupe was 556, the ACR was 562….I bet the new one is about the same as yours and Tony’s.
How much did the dyno and tuning cost per person.?
-
HPTuners Hardware and Software (You have to purchase) including the credits to tune your car is $1,098.00. Most shops and or tuners will charge you $500 to tune the car, and if you have to fly someone in and rent a shops dyno then you would need to split that cost up amoingst the group as well.
I think we will have some solid local tuning options both here in Houston and Austin very soon so the extra costs shouldn’t be needed. So I would say $1,500 or so initially and any time you need to retune a few $100 more depending on what needs to be done.
As for your Gen V at Serious my TA stock there SAE made 546 but it was warmer out so some timing was most likely being pulled. If your IAT’s are BELOW 86 degrees on the dyno no timing will be pulled and you might see a few more. So if you go when it’s cool out you will have the best chance to see a larger stock corrected number.

Thanks for the answers Andy. $1600 isn't to shabby considering the Gen IV Mopar PCM was $1100 w/o any kind of tuning ability.Exactly you end up paying about 500$ more but you can tune the car over and over again. And it gives you the ability to run boost, a non VVT cam, and other things we couldn’t do in the past without the help of a stand alone system.
-
Andy, when are you going back to SHP to re-dyno, so we can see some good before/after results of the tune and mods?

I am going to try and get to Calvo’s shop in Austin in a couple weeks. After we go after it again I will head back to Serious. Alex and I were 2hp apart on Englands dyno and he made 583 SAE the next day at Serious so that would have put me around 580SAE there which sucks so I am going to re tune with Antonio.

Andy, the car sounds fantastic! You can definitely hear the gearing difference between the Gen 4 and Gen 5.

Here are my numbers from SHP;

606whp/583wtq UNCORRECTED as-is in the dyno rooms 59.9 degree weather.
583whp/560wtq CORRECTED SAE after applying 77*F/0% Humidity/29.235 correction factor.
I’m happy with it. Could it make more power on the dyno? I guess, but I think its where it should be for having a catted exhaust. Hopefully a gen 5 intake manifold will push me closer to 600whp SAE. At the end of the day I only care about trap speed, so if the car goes 135mph like i want it to, it could make 400whp for all I care. I should have the car out to the track at some point in December.
I can tell you one thing though, I was out with about 10-12 lamborghinis (gallardos, aventadors, etc) and a few GTRs playing around yesterday and the only car that had anything for me was one 750whp full bolt on, larger turbos GTR. Everyone else got rolled on. I was finally able to take down an Aventador as well (a few times).

A quick video i threw together of the pulls I was present for. I am sorry I couldn’t get you all on film. As usual, many laughs were shared by all and we had a great time!
A big thanks to Andy (Flatout) for organizing all of this, EnglandGreen for hosting, and Torrie for his time tuning.
