Look forward to seeing you as a new Member of the VOA Region in Wisconsin ( check out the membership section ) and who knows with what you do you may even want to consider becoming a Sponsor. Decent number of Vipers and Members in Wisconsin, Illinois, and Minnesota and the need for qualified Techs will always be there. Congrats , your car is a twin to my first one and the memories will be as good for you , in the years to come , as they are for all of us with our current or past Snakes!

Thanks! It’s good to see active forums….I used to LOVE forums and then social media seemed to kill that off a bit due to Facebook groups….I prefer forums personally. I didnt know there was a specific membership section so I’ll check that out.

Forgive my stupidity….but Im not seeing what you mean by the membership section…is that something I join/pay in on? Thanks!

$115 for regular membership. $150 for a Mamba Membership , and there are big benefits for that if you go to the National Events. The benefit of the Forums are tons of catalogued info and data, plus with this Club there are still active Contributors and Companies building new products for a discontinued car. With many of us old farts still active , there is a wealth of information folks are wiling to impart, because like you, the dream of a Viper is a passion satisfied.

You will love the smiles you bring to others just driving down the road!!

Congrats and WELCOME !! I see that you have already been welcomed by the man who has sold more Vipers to happy owners than anyone else on the planet…who also happens to be a great friend to all owners and a hell of a racer as well.

I think you will find a great bunch of kindred spirits here.

As an aside, I would suggest that you also introduce yourself in the Gen II section as posts there generally attract more readers and responders.

      Enjoy your fine machine !!

Hello from the UK, the only dumb questions are the ones not asked, lots and lots of tech info available here.

      Welcome to the forums.

Welcome AJ! I’m a new member from Switzerland, and my personal story in terms of Gen II GTS basically reads the same as yours! I can go and pick up my red ’98 GTS on Saturday 🙂 I just joined the VOA as a member, as I’m sure it’s going to help me get way more knowledge on the cars, meeting new people and have a good time being a new Viper owner.

      Enjoy your red lady!

Congrats to you Endless and James!

I was in a similar boat, when I saw the GTS come out in, and was using the Viper GTS playing Gran Turismo on Playstation, I vowed to get one in the future no matter what. The absolute second that I was able to make things work out, I got my 2002. It was one of the best, if not best, decision that I ever made in my life.

      Good luck!

Hello AJ! Nice to meet you and everybody else. I love your car, it’s very colorful. Next to my property in Spain here I have a neighbour who has the same car but it’s blue. To be honest I think it was made to be red color only

Well as Im sure holds true for alot of members here I have wanted a 96-02 GTS Viper since I saw them back in ’96….I was a car nut growing up from about the age of 7 and in ’96 I was going into high school when the GTS came out….Well fast forward 24 years and I am finally at a point in my life where I can start enjoying the fruits of all the hard work over the years…so about 2 months ago I started looking for a Gen2 GTS….Found a few, but knew I wanted to be picky as I knew most likely I would be keeping this car for 10+ years so I wouldnt settle. I ended up finding a 3 owner 1998 GTS with 21k on it…CarFax showed no claimed accidents and I started emailing with the owner who has owned it since 2006….he seemed like he truly loved the car and took great care of it so I decided to get the paperwork rolling and head down with checks in hand for the car as long as I liked it….Buddy and I jumped on a plane and owner picked us up…from beginning I could tell he cared alot about the car and as soon as I saw it I knew this was the one for me. It’s a perfect slate for a “shop” car for my performance shop here in Wisconsin….it’s SUPER unique as there are very few around here so it will get attention for my business….and it’s truly an American exotic car that I can enjoy putting miles on with my friends and customers.

I already have a TON of plans for the car and the goal is to be around 700whp and road race capable so I can take it around Road America….I’m still learning a ton about this platform and am greatful to all the willing members for their help and answers to my questions.

Feel free to add me or my business on Facebook or Instagram and I will be starting to utilize my YouTube channel as well to showcase the parts and modifications I do to this car along the way….I’m trying to partner with multiple vendors to showcase their products as well so if anyone has recommendations on things they may like to see feel free to give your input!

The about me part…..My name is AJ….36 years old….I own a performance shop here in Wisconsin called Endless Performance that I started back in 2011…We are a dealer for hundreds of companies in the performance industry and we have worked with multiple platforms but have specialized in LS and Coyote stuff…alot of our focus has been in the drag racing world, but I want to start doing roll racing and road racing as well.
