A stock viper has to lift to pass sound. You really need to go to one of the “unlimited” or 105 db weekends. (I have similar set up on my G4).

I’ve only been there twice, so others that are local can tell you more about lifting and exhaust pipe work-a-rounds.

I do think that most groups that run there have the two strikes rule and you need to go home.

Your not going to pass on throttle, heck you might not pass off throttle. I have been pegged at 115-117db with similar mods and no turn-down on a unrestricted track.

Haven’t been to Laguna Seca in a Viper, but other tracks I have run at (like Arizona Motorsports Park (AMP) with a 92 db limit) require you to go through their test box at full throttle – if you lift you get black flagged. I have an app on my iPhone called “Decibel 10th” that is generally within 2 dbs of the track equipment, so I check before I go to the track. On my “buzzy” Ford Focus track car I got by with a turn-down pointed 90 degrees away from the test meter – it lowered the noise by about 5 dbs (95 to 90). I’m not sure how a Gen V will do with only one side of the exhaust system pointed toward the track-side meter, but I’ll find out at the next AMP track day. Neither my C6Z nor 1LE Camaro, both with dual mode exhausts, can get down to 92 db at WOT.

Just route your passenger side exhaust up and over.

Take a clue from the Porsche guys… LOL

Or wait for one of the other days specified for louder exhaust.

I am planning to sign up for a laguna seca track event with 90db sound limit. Anyone have experience with this? I can’t imagine stock cars with sport exhaust and bypass valves (vettes and camaros) being under the limit.

I’ve read everything from people lifting at the sound box to pointing the exhaust away to stay under the limit. I have belanger headers, high flow cats, and corsa 3″ exhaust which is most likely over 90db. I was planning to lift at the sound box and wanted to know if I will have any issues with track workers if its obviously over 90 when I’m at other sections of the track.
