This is terrible news, and thoughts are with the family. Was he a member here?

Thoughts and prayers to the family (and passenger’s family too) The driver sounded like a nice hard-working guy based on local news from that area.

His name doesn’t sound familiar from our NY/CT roster before this year either. Having said that, there are a lot of good Viper people up in the suburbs of Albany, I’m sure the driver knew someone we know.

Very sad. Hope the passenger is ok and for the driver, RIP.

      THE ASSOCIATED PRESS
      August 24, 2014 – 2:58 pm EDT

COLONIE, New York — A Schenectady County man has died and a woman has been injured after a 2006 Dodge Viper crashed along Interstate 87, the Adirondack Northway.

State police say 43-year-old Matthew Fiske of Rotterdam was driving the Viper south around 10 p.m. Saturday when he apparently struck a guide rail in the town of Colonie. The vehicle went off the highway and down an embankment before hitting a tree.

Fiske was killed in the crash. His passenger, 43-year-old Colleen Seidel of Clifton Park, was taken to Albany Medical Center. Troopers said her injuries were serious but not life-threatening.
