Great to see the notes Janni!
Not to start anything, as I 100% do not think there are issues here as there were at the VCA, but will a budget (and more specifically a balance sheet with real numbers) be provided anytime? I can understand waiting until next year when things are more settled, but just curious. The “funds look good” statement would be jumped all over if the VCA said it without real numbers. Again, it is much easier to have things taken at face value when trust isn’t an issue, which the VCA lost every shred of, but trying to look 100% objectively at everything.

Like I said, I’m not in any rush (even if they don’t start until next year). I just want to make sure that anything that gets questioned elsewhere, gets the same attention here, so the VOA never ends up in the situation the VCA is in.

We’ve gotten the first bill from the HQ, so that can help us with bettering a budget (we’re paying on a time and materials basis – so we needed to get some better real world data) and we have the insurance bill finally, so we can put actuals in a real budget.

I’ll ask Brad when we can post something – we’d like to review and accept with the Presidents first – but we should have that on the agenda for the next meeting.

Again – since we’re projecting some things (magazine printing for XXXX issues based on membership projections, etc) some of this will be forecasted – and we’ll track to our projections and get better / more accurate each year.

I actually think we have a couple iterations of a budget we can share – because so far – we’ve been able to exceed income by having good advertisers and doing well with the extra swag offered at registration – so that might be interesting to see how we projected and now some actuals.

We will work on that. Thanks and hold us to publishing this within the first 90 days of the “real” club operations. (and I think we can do better than that)

Your Presidents received these yesterday.

Big thanks to the Presidents for their insight and participation. We are forging some new territory and learning as we go. It’s VERY helpful to have active participation and healthy discussion. Members should know that the Presidents are not at all afraid to speak their minds and the National Officers are actually grateful for some dissension. Conflict is GOOD – as it helps decisions to be made and things to move forward / change. As long as everyone remains respectful (and I have no concerns about this), thoughtful inspired debate is awesome.
