Welcome Rob. I don’t know about street slicks but we get a members discount on Pirelli Pzeros and Corsa tires and they are nice tires. Also, Michelin Pilot Super Sports work well on the street. I’m not sure better grip would necessarily have a negative affect on the handling. Stripes, I’d recommend vinyl in case you decide to change them in the future.

Congrats and welcome. VOA members have a special direct through Pirelli for new tires.

My good friend has run nothing but Toyo R888’s on his Vettes. His current Vette is procharged 650rwhp with no traction problems beyond 1st gear.
They are what I plan on going with after my Kumho’s need to be replaced. The Toyo’s are pretty much what all the guys with high horsepower RWD cars are using that aren’t using slicks.
I believe front and backs 295/345 will run you $1500 which is retail pricing.

Welcome to the group.
Love it when a new member starts with a hello, and ends with questions on even more performance. ;.) You’re in good company.

I wanted to officially introduced myself to the group……Great bunch of people here!
I’m a proud owner of this 04′ Viper from the Detroit area. I bought it this summer and lovin’ every minute so far. I know I need updated tires and I’m considering putting racing stripes on this stock Gen 3.
First of all, what type of street slicks have you guys had good luck with? With launching out with better grip, but still having reasonable handling and safety. Do street slicks cause issues with excessive torque to the drivetrain/ transmission?
I will not be driving in rainy/ bad weather so I am willing to sacrifice some handling for better grip. Also, does anyone have photos of their red gen 3 with racing stripes? Painting them on or decals? Which would you recommend?
Thanks……Rob
