I was originally going to go there but the weather wasn’t supposed to be good Saturday and they weren’t letting me register last minute, so I ran on Thunderbolt Sunday with MoE. He let me sign up last minute.
BTW, nice times! A few questions for you:
How do you like that timer? I feel like my Harry’s Laptimer is not accurate.
Going over the curbing on turn 1 doesn’t upset the car?
Going full throttle coming up to the bridge is not a problem?Ron

Moe is great that way. Your Son had a better time as well with the ride alongs which RTR does not allow.
I use Race Chrono Pro and a Garmin Glo GPS receiver. Surprisingly the Camera and the tablet lap times were nearly identical. Start finish was more of a challenge to set with the camera as it syncs the video with software to give you your lap times. For real time lap time information I have the tablet in the car with me. Without a GPS receiver, and Harry’s Lap Timer does not wok with the Garmin GLO, the Harry’s Lap Timer speeds are typically way off as you can see from your videos. They usually have a lag time to them. Lap times can be off as well since the phone or tablet GPS doesn’t always place you on the track perfectly lap after lap.
You have to go over the curbing to go quick. Yes it upsets the car, sometimes a lot. For both Tbolt and Lightning watch Andrew Aquilante’s videos over and over. It shows you where to put the car in every corner.
I am flat as soon as I feel I am good and the car will stay on the track rolling over 5 towards trackout til I am on the brakes for 7 at the bridge. No problem at all.
Quick lap of the weekend. I was on my only clear lap run when the camera shut off in the video at 120 mph before the bridge. There’s a bunch left in the car. Maybe 3 or 4 seconds left but probably not with me driving it. π

Yes, another reason I went with MoE and brought my son. I also notice the lag with Harry’s laptimer.
When I had my Z06’s I’d go over the curbing, but as you know it had magnetorheological dampers which we don’t have. I’ve been trying to avoid the curbing for that reason for fear of upsetting the car minus the MR. I did go over some on Thunderbolt and the car seemed to take it pretty well though.I’ve met Andrew and his dad Joe at the track a few times. I’ve watched his videos dozens of times.
I hope to hit Lightning soon as well as Thunderbolt again.
What cold pressures do you run in the hoosiers?

Hoosiers we typically don’t set them starting below 22 with the ACR Aero. They heat up pretty quickly. I was seeing 33 hot.
On the Corvette’s Joe told me a couple weeks ago when I went to pick up some A7 scrubs for my Wife’s C7 to start them 24 in front 20 in the rear. He said he doesn’t mess with them after that except maybe for a bleed off on really hot days. I chose 22 for the rear of the ACR and it seemed to work really well.
If I was driving your car I would run it straight over the curbing in 1 at Lightning at a 60% pace to see how it likes it. Then I would work up to as quick as I was comfortable going through there. Straightens the corner, car settles earlier and you can roll on power much sooner for the shot down the hill towards 2.
At Tbolt I would have nearly the whole car on the curbing after the bridge leading onto the pit straight. Speed there wants to be 115 plus mph in our cars. I think Andrew rolls through there in a stock C7Z on street tires at 124 mph.

I hear you. I was 26/24 that day. Had a slight push. I probably should have lowered them a little.
I was going a little easier than usual with my kid in the car…but I don’t usually go harder than 7-8/10ths anyway. I’m just out there to have fun. : )Andrew is a maniac! Joe told me that Andrew is “agressive.” I thought that was funny but true.

I think those pressures are just fine. Maybe a pound or two out in the front would help the push but your videos looked great like the car was working well. You are quick in the slow sections such as the left and right handers and then the Octopus was great.
I can tell by your drag racing times that you really take it easy!! π
I get the passenger thing for sure. I just go out to take it easy and put in a couple laps especially if my Dad is in the car with me. This past weekend though my Wife as a passenger did tap out which she has never done before when Ben in his ACR-E and I in my Wife’s new C7 Grandsport were playing. That was a bunch of fun. There were 56 cars on track and a good number of them got to see that C7 sideways going under them taking late passes.
I am always amazed when I watch Andrew’s videos. His corner speeds are serious. You probably know this but they used to race a Viper in T1 some 10 years ago I think. I also like to watch Corey Friedman at Summit Main and Watkins Glen. He gets around at both of those tracks very well.

dang, you're hauling!!I'm digging the VIRB. Is it the Ultra 30? How did you setup the interface that you have and did you import the track map or just let it draw it and you setup the finish line?
And what mount are you using?
Thanks a lot! I appreciate that.
Ultra 30 like Eugene’s. Software is free downloaded from Garmin. Video is “naked” until you sync the software to the video. You have to “sync” start/finish to get lap times which wasn’t that easy. Lot’s of gauge styles and colors to choose from. It uses a blue tooth dongle to gather info from the car. GPS is in the camera.
I mounted using a short arm RAM mount with suction cup on the inside of the windshield so I could capture some engine sound. The Garmin camera case uses the same mounts as a Go Pro.
I love it and still learning.

Cool !
I Just purchased this camera and start using it next week snorkeling π Then some track days.
Yea, i read that the camera has a 10hz GPS signal verses our cell phones which are at 1hz.Hmm, i have a RAM mount for my iphone6. I may have to rig that up to work.

Thanks! You seemed spot on as well on Lightning. Really flying! I’d like to meet up with you on either track to see if I can keep up. ; )
They have some set up out there at Phoenixville Perf., right? I was shocked! They’re practically in the middle of Amish country. lolRon

Some video. Car was great all weekend. Car is a 2016 ACR-E. Tires are 345/35/18 Hoosier A7’s rear and 315/30/18 Hoosier A7’s front. Wheels are CCW TS12’s. Other than the wheels, tires and adjustable sway bar end links the car is stock.
Setup is 2.6 neg camber front, 1.5 negative camber rear, 0 toe front, 1/8 total toe in rear, 4.1 inch front ride height, 5.5 rear ride height.
My first video with a Garmin VIRB.
