Local GTS folks generously offered to help, but timing is bad for them, so I’m on my own.
Sounds like fun! I got this. 🙂

Realistically I will find some things, but really want to nail down if nose has been worked on or replaced. Pictures show more-than-comfortable gaps between nose/hood.

Inspection for Under hood, brakes, exhaust:
• Front damage repair indications when inspecting under hood? (I COULD USE SOME COMMENTS from you guys)
• Blue overspray
• PS Pump….Plastic pully? | | |
• Cast Iron manafold w/stainless shield | | |
• Stock stainless exhaust w/stainless rear tips | | |
• Stock brakes black w/white letters | | |
• Check fittings for rust (scale 1-5 5-sucks)

Exterior Inspection
• Front damage repair indications when inspecting? (I COULD USE SOME COMMENTS from you guys)
• Tires….original? (Michelin Pilot SX). | | |
• Original wheels have no rash? | | |
• I hate chrome add-ons, etc.
• Polished Aluminium Gas Lid | | |
• Front Spoiler underside condition(describe)
• CHECK FOR ORIGINAL PAINT
o Mesh Tape on leading-edge of wheel well facing kick-panel | | |
o Mesh Tape on trailing-edge underside of nose before wheel-well | | |
o No blue overspray | | |
o Edge of hood/door paint should be smooth
o CHECK STRIPE PAINT…will have slight ridge? | | |
• Door sag and fit. | | |
• Check weather stripping | | |
• Headlight levels | | |
• Hood corners rear/front any(!!) damage? | | |

Interior
• Rocker Panel Blistering (heat)? | | |
• Kick Stickers correct white/complete? | | |
• VIN label matches window/title? | | |
• Hook up code scanner…not sure if this really gives anything on 1st-year ODB2 coded car.

When time to start car:
• Stay outside and watch for smoke. | | |
• Car with have lope….is ok
• Note dash lights with key “on”….all eight should light. | | |
• Note dash lights with car running….eventually they go out | | |
• O-pressure….rafter drive, temp, o-pres

Research
• Were recalls 998,999 done? No mention on CarFax…will inspect front for 998.
• CARFAX OK? | | |

Underside Inspection
• Fittings rust (1-5)
• Frame rust (1-5)
• Welds rust (1-5)
• Paint (1-5)
• Bottom-out scapes
• Wheel-well scrabes, nose scrapes
• nose backside cracks or repairs.
• Front damage indications when inspecting underside? (I COULD USE SOME COMMENTS from you guys)
• Recall 998
o Steering Rack Mount Welds | | |
o Left Side Differential Mounts Will not be able to inspect

Test drive
Go through gears | | |
Clutch OK? Have owner take to 70ish in 5th, then punch it to check for slip | | |
