I would contact Toyo directly and ask them 🙂

Since the R888s are only left side OR right side, and there does not appear to be a right side rear availableAre you positive about that statement? Are they marked with both an “OUTSIDE” marking and a directional marking? I don’t remember that at all when I used them years ago. I would be very surprised if you are correct on this.

200 miles really isn’t that much. I also recommend talking to Toyo. I believe if they are within x/32″ of new you are alright replacing just one. I just don’t know exactly what that number is. The new R888r is not left/right like the R888’s that you have now. They come in viper sizes now, but I don’t know if they are available. FWIW I am running R888r in front and R888 in back. I wish I would have waited and just did R888r in front/back but it is what it is. If you do end up replacing both rear tires, I’d plug the tire with the nail and keep the tires as a spare rear set or sell them. I personally would have no problem running a center-plugged tire as long as I wasn’t on the track, but not everyone is that comfortable with it.

So you could purchase another Toyo R888 tire and mount it to your wheel.
Hope that makes sense. 🙂Just took some photos of a spare Toyo R888 I have in the garage for you, so you can see what I mean
Remember, these markings are for how it mounts on the wheel, (not the car).20170715_110603.jpg

20170715_110647.jpgAs you can see on the tire, the left and right arrows are how you mount it to the wheel in what ever rotation the wheel is traveling.
The fitter flips the wheel to the tire, not the tire to the wheel 🙂 -
Pulled my right rear (200+miles) only to find a screw (1″+) imbedded in the center of the tire. Since the R888s are only left side OR right side, and there does not appear to be a right side rear available, would replacing both rears with R888Rs be the best plan. Would this unbalance the car front/rear? I plan on running at COTA in Sept. The Kuhmos would be an option if I weren’t driving to the track and if they hadn’t been crewed up by my ½ mile crushed granite drive way!
I have custom 19″ wheels with R888 on all 4.
