Almost bought a new Raptor a couple of months ago until I started reading about the cam phaser issues, decided to wait and see how these Rams are.

Looks like this just made the decision for my next Hellcat powered vehicle harder. Just bought a tow package equipped SRT Jeep for the wife so we would have a nice tow vehicle but the TRX having a capacity of 8100lb makes for a compelling argument.

Wish they’d make a lowered street version. Ain’t none of the Raptors I’ve even seent gone offroad even once.

Honestly that’s what I’m thinking as well the more I looked into it. I was hoping for modern SRT10 aka lowered street performance truck vs a Baja runner style truck.

I wanted to add some power to my 1500, but I worry about the durability of the 8HP70 transmission and the 235mm rear end. I suppose it’s good there’s no SRT street version, so I don’t feel like I’d need to trade up.

I must also admit that the TRX, while extremely fast and capable, looks kind of… boring. I think the reason is that the available color palette is lame. Grey, white, silver, black, red, blue. Lame. Where’s the lime green? Yellow? Purple? Orange?? This truck needs to be bright and loud.

No doubt Stellantis will expand the palette, but only after a year or two of production. We’ll see.

I wonder when heads up displays will filter out to the Charger and Challengers.

Our dealer is tacking on a 20% mark-up. Ouch!

I had a chance to drive one yesterday. I left with one on order. It’s a pretty sweet truck. Right up my alley for a daily driver. With everything going electric, these high hp, fossil fuel burning vehicles are soon to be a thing of the past, sadly!!

The Raptor gets some competition in form of the “T. Rex”… 🙂
