Same thing here, but I assumed it was because my hood isn’t a factory Gen IV hood. I haven’t had time to look at “real” fixes yet, but for now I just put a few layers of thick doublesided tape about the size of nickel on the hood where the switch contacts it and covered the outmost in electrical tape. You don’t even notice it, and gives enough added material to keep the switch pressed down.

Thanks. I really appreciate that. I did put a factory Gen IV hood on but will certainly try that if my guys can’t figure it out quickly.

I would put a mini camera or go pro under the hood to see if there is enough pressure in the switch or disconnect it to eliminate if its the hood.

I put a stock gen 4 hood on my gen 3 and I’ve never had a problem with the alarm…..Good Luck!

This may sound a little ghetto, but it worked for me :). I took a clear (black if you can find one) rubber drawer/cabinet silencer with an adhesive backing. Take that small dime size silencer and stick it on top of the hood plunger, or in the recess in the underside of the hood. It creates a small shim that will keep the plunger depressed enough that you won’t have a problem any more.
I was told there is a way to adjust the plunger itself but I never figured out how to do it and this worked great.
Good luck!

Thank you everyone. Will have it in the shop on Monday if this crazy raining ever stops.

I had a Gen IV hood put on my Gen III and have to say for the looks I should have done it long ago. What I have found is now the alarm will sometimes go off when doors are locked on the car after about 10 minutes or so. It also trips when I am sometimes pushing the unlock button on the fob. It will disengage when I push the unlock button a couple of times. Has anyone else experienced this at hood swap and would it possibly be an issue with a switch or the like activated by the hood and a possible incorrect fit. Appreciate any insight I could get.
