Stradman, not an expert with failed G5 motors but the reoccurring issue seems to be block contamination/issues, not oil starvation coming from high G loads. A number of the motor problem cars are just being street driven. Not aware of any G5 cars with a dry-sump but I’m sure if there are they’ll comment to your thread.
A number of comp coupes are using them (not mine). Seems that Dailey is the one I hear about the most, but there’s others building them too Good luck, Mike

Cheers Mike,
Yes contamination has been one possible issue as you suggest. But short of disassembling the motor, and cleaning/rinsing out and blueprinting you probably won’t have such an issue through that. The spun bearings we have heard about may also be a compound problem i.e. debris and oil starvation. It seems to me if you can avoid any possibility of oil starvation via a dry sump set up in heavy track use, then this may help soften or offset the impact of possible debris. Just saying….. -
I believe Calvo is doing dry sumps for the Vs.

Quick question, I was speaking to a tuner in Germany(Geiger) who suggests I dry sump my ACR-E if I want to use it for regular serious track days. He says he’s seen 2 cars with spun bearings there and since dry sumping his cars, he hasn’t had a problem. I know the Gen V’s have this swing arm pick up but that will never be as good as a good dry sump. So in light of the fair few engine failures that have occured that I have read about- which may possibly be implicated through some degree of oil starvation, have any of you regular track users put in a dry sump in your ACR’s?
