stock 06 ? id go for the safer of the two unless you like to push limits and risk a break and if you are looking to push limits, definitely do a custom tune on the dyno.

      Hey guys,

I'm looking at getting either an email tune from Sean Roe or a custom dyno tune. Right now the redline is 6000rpm, which seems like it leaves a fair bit on the table still. Sean Roe's tune can be set 6300rpm for redline. Just wanted to get some input on this and what is ideal.

Besides the tune, the two main issues revolve around valve train stability and oiling to rod and main bearings. Most here will advise to keep the rpm below 6300rpm. I ran a 6300rpm fuel cut-off for 2-3 years when my Gen III was full bolt-on and tuned. I added heads/cam with T&D rockers (stock bottom end) and bumped fuel cut-off to 6400rpm. I don’t bang redline often, but its been running well for almost 3 years.

345’s spinning hit it head on. These engines go into valve float about 6200rpm. If the motor is stock, do not raise the rev limit (fuel cut out). I have seen numerous motors that have bad lifters, cams, valves, valve retainers and rocker arms, due to excessive rpm.

      Hmm, Ok good to know.

Car has or will have K&N intake, Belanger headers, HFC’s and Cat back, and custom tune.

Listen to Mr. Cragin, as he may not work at a Dodge Dealership anymore, but he is likely the most respected Viper Technician in the US — beside being a pretty damn nice guy!!!
