I had the opportunity To take a car control clinic several months ago. Basically pushing oversteer and understeer and trying to Stay near the edge of the traction of the car. I used my Viper, And a friend used his S2000. We switched between cars the whole weekend. Viper was much more predictable than the S 2000. You could feel it approach the edge of traction sooner than the S 2000. Also did not have as much tendency to oversteer. I came away from the weekend way more impressed with the Viper than I was before the event.

Here is a comment by Dick Winkles, Spirit of Viper Hall of Fame member, said in response to the article:
“I felt more confident and safe in a Viper than any other car I have ever driven. Once you got a little seat time and got to know the car they are very predictable. It is indeed the inexperienced, over zealous over confident driver that gave the Viper a bad reputation. How many times did we see some “Racer” executive, engineer or media person pick up a test/press/development car, go out with cold tires and/or damp/wet pavement, wheel turned sideways, and then stand on it and end up with egg on their face and something worse in their shorts? What the car more often lacked was a driver without experience or common sense!”
