I would say the track wouldn’t allow it unless the club took full responsibility in case a tire went flying and hit him. Or a bird hits him and he crashes.

Has he installed a seat lowering kit?

Nope. He’s 6′-3″ and his wife is 5′-0″, so the seat needs to retain all the adjustments.

Well, that’s how he can track his car. Install the kit and then get her a seat pad.

Normally you will have to pass a broom stick test unless you are in a novice run group. That is if you put a broomstick from the windshield to the roll bar is his head under that? Is he a novice?

Forcing someone to do this for a VOA event is a good way to lose an attendant. If they’ve not bothered to do so by now, they aren’t likely to.

I’m not actually sure of his skill level, but I’d probably go novice/intermediate. If he’s already said he can’t fit both the helmet and the roof, I’m going to assume he will not pass the broomstick test.

It’s either going to be determined by Homestead’s rules or the rules set forth by the sanctioning body (us). If there’s a tech sheet, I’d want to get it to members as soon as possible. I didn’t think to ask about it during the meeting in Miami.

I just heard from Homestead and they have no rules regarding convertibles and top up versus down.

Just getting a chance to get back on the forums, I see Beth got a response from Homestead about this. I will add that I have tracked my G3 here with the top up and down. NO one at the track or promoter has ever questioned me. Daytona on the other hand has very strict rules prohibiting any soft tops without certified roll over bars with a passing of the broom stick test. Looks like the “pinky” promise is gonna have to do. I would hope that a G1 driver with NO top would be in the beginner group, but hey c’mon and play with the ACR’s in the advance groups, its just for fun, right?

      All,

I had a member ask me if he’s going to be permitted to drive his RT/10 on the track without the roof on. He’s too tall to fit both the helmet and the roof.

Anyone have any thoughts or Homestead knowledge on this? I would just make him pinky swear he wasn’t going to roll it.
