went to the store and bought $40 worth of paint. got rust killer, rust primer, flat black, high temp black. put the car up put 3 coats of each.
i read a post about how the engine harness on passenger side can melt. pulled the carpet back and sure enough, the harness is stuck to the frame of the car. slowly pulled it off then wrapped it with vulcan tape. then put rust killer on a small 1 inch spot i saw. then put aluminum tape on it.
my car only has 27k on it and has lived most of its life in the south. i recommend everyone doing wire harness wrap. 3m had the tape for $8 so for a total of $50, i’ve slowed the rust at the door sills down and saved my wire harness from taking more heat.
