I’ve put off replacing a windshield for too long. I want one of those fancy infrared blocking units and I cringe at having the conversation because I’m certain whoever I talk to will look at me like i have 3 eyes.

Have always had good experiences with Safelight.
Lived in the Amarillo area for 15years … windshields take a beating there.
Hope proper fix comes soon!!!

Have had good experience with Safelight in the past. My guess is that there was some kind of manufacturing, design or part change for your car model mid-cycle and the supply chain (could be manufacturer, the parts supplier, etc.) have not updated the new part number. It’s more common than realized, but at the end of the day, the dealer should be able to figure out what the right part number is. Go to them and try to get the exact part number from the dealer and see if that helps.
I have had to do that with other parts than windshields and am assuming that you might be caught in that part of hell 🙂

Always ask for a OEM glass the glass companies always want to use after market but the glass companies can use OEM if still available and you would also see the auto manufactures logo in the glass . I have had several replaced in my cars not viper and had to tell them thats what I wanted and my insurance company still paid.

Had two Safelite screens in my Viper, both non-OEM. Both were well installed and good quality. The OE screen never broke, it was just sandblasted beyond seeing out of the thing with any glare on it.

Ugh……is all I can say. Went to get a windshield replaced on a car (non-viper) that we own. Went through their on line tool, gave them the VIN number, etc. so they could get the part. Two weeks later…..I get a call to set up the final appointment.
Everything cool so far. Take off of work, deliver the car…….and 3 hours later…..get a call that the car is not done. They don’t have the right windshield. Dang it……
I go and pick up the car…..and they said that they have the VIN….will call the dealer and get the new glass in.
Wait three (3) weeks. Get a call……”Hey…..your windshield is in”. I set up an appointment to get it done. Drop off the car.
One hour later……(you guessed it)….I get a call that “We can’t fix your windshield. We don’t have the right part”.
Needless to say….I was miffed.
Anyone else have a similar situation?
(I don’t need help…..found another place to do it…..just venting here)
