I’m thrilled to see them sticking to their guns, but I think its eventually going to happen.

If SRT had unlimited funds I think Ralph would change his tune.

Don’t think he is getting anymore $.

Fiat’s stock trades at about 9.8 times last year’s earnings, in the same neighborhood as Ford Motor’s price/earnings ratio of 9.3 times and Volkswagen’s 9.1 times. But ISI estimates that under U.S. accounting, the company would have actually lost about $50 million in 2013, rather than posting net income of about $1.2 billion at current exchange rates.

While I appreciate SRT’s “Do more with less” attitude, you are 100% correct.

SRT Says No to Automatic, Entry-Level Viper…For Now

      Yahoo!

The Viper may not be selling like hot cakes, but that doesn’t mean SRT is going to water down the product to move a few more units. The $100K, manual-only Viper may seem like a lot to handle, but SRT CEO Ralph Gilles says that they aren’t going to change the formula…at least, not yet.

“We’re trying to build a custom show car that you can own. This is not a disposable device here,” Gilles told Automotive News. “We’ve never tried to be Corvette. We never will be.”

Continuing on, Gilles was confronted with the possibility of an automatic Viper to appeal to a larger audience. And while he says that they are not at work on an automatic Viper at the moment, Gilles is “open-minded to it,” but defends the current layout:

“In a way, it’s further distinguishing us because everyone has paddle shifters and we don’t. But at the same time, we’re also seeing now where people are noticing and saying, ‘Wow, it’s like the last driver’s car left.’ That’s exactly what it’s been about all along,” said Gilles.

We’ll see if SRT changes its mind in the future. What do you think — would you want to see an automatic Viper?
