Paintscratch.com has a pretty close match to hyperblack wheels, but it has metal flake in it. It’s good for small repairs. most won’t notice from a distance.

When I had hyperblack wheels (have since sold the set) I taught myself how to repair, because I curbed one. I got pretty good at it but it involves airbrushing and multiple layers of paint/HB coating. Pretty involved.

Hyperblack is actually not powdercoated. When sanded you wear through clear, then silver coating, then black paint, down to aluminium. It’s multiple layers of paint and coating.

but I agree. The best way to make your set perfect outside of buying a new wheel is to have the whole set powder coated. you can get close to hyperblack.

There are multi-stage powdercoat finishes. Black basecoat, transparent silver, then gloss clear. Most of the “hyper black” and “hyper silver dark” aftermarket and OEM wheels are indeed powder.

Buy a new wheel
Sell your scratched one to a racer for a discount.

Cut your loss and end up with a new wheel vs repaired for nearly the same price.

So a shitty start to the week… picked up a mint set of Hyper Black SWII’s this weekend and was really excited. This morning was running late to the airport and still had to pull the wheels out of the truck. Opened the hatch and one of them came rolling out, fell on the face and scratched the crap out of the rim. My neighbors enjoyed the slew of swears that came screaming out of my mouth… Needless to say I now have a number of scratches on the black finish. What would be the best way of getting this cleaned up and fixed? Any way of getting matching touch-up paint? Any idea of cost to repair something like that?

Unfortunately no pics since I had to run to catch a flight… 🙁
