      That does seem strange.

Its occurring throughout Chrysler. Over the winter I had a small altercation with a snow drift that required some minor front end plastic. I have a ’12 Challenger. The parts that I needed haven’t changed since 2009 and are used even on the ’14 cars and it still took 7 weeks to get the parts even with VOR status (vehicle off road).

I cant even get ’13 Viper parts without waiting months… I could go on but I think you get my point.

The Durango parts have still not arrived and now the body shop thinks they were sent to the wrong dealer out of state. All this time I have to pay for a cheesy rental too. I called the so called Dodge hot line early today to file the complaint but no one has bothered to follow up or call back. Only got a case number. This IS the last Dodge I will buy and Im no small buyer to Dodge. I have bought eight new Dodge cars in the last nine years, and with this kind of service Im done. Their loss and no Im not buying any GM cars for those that wanted to reply with that tid bit.

The lack of a real service experience is my biggest obstacle with the brand too. I understand the frustration.

Just suppose you had a GM product – any of their cars – with an ignition switch recall. Where are they now 6 million cars? Lots of cars will never get fixed. All manufacturers are in the “just in time” supply chain and they don’t plan on a lot of extra parts – especially for new models or good sellers.

I’d never buy GM again either. My Hummer used to get stuck in park and my C6 Corvette convertible hood would get stuck half way. They over do it with electronics. Plus they lose 50% value in 20 months.

Mine too! but I really miss that truck…

I think all brands are keeping stock to a minimum… Even at NAPA this week I needed a water pump for the ranch jeep… not one in stock, had to wait 5 days for the part…

What a pain to get new or warranty parts for some of the new Dodge vehicles. After buying a new 14 Durango RT I needed a key fob that was not working properly and that took the dealer 3 weeks or more to get one. Parts guy said no stock anywhere. And now after having someone throw a piece of wood up on the front bumper requiring new bumper parts, the body shop says no parts for at least a week. Not exactly what I expected from Dodge and have not had this problem from other brands in the past.
