I used the Graco Turbobooster ($25 or $50 with back) when my kids were that little. If I remember to take it with me, I still bring it to car shows just in case a little one wants a picture while sitting in the car.

Some of the Simpson seats I’ve seen were just these with a Simpson cover.

I found one that fits perfect. The challenge was finding one with a narrow enough base to fit down in the bottom of the seat, not have any sharp edges on the bottom or sides and then have the main part of the seat come up high enough to clear the side bolsters on the bottom of the seat.
This one covers all those bases and it was at WalMart. The base of the booster seat is just over 11″ wide and the base has all wide rounded edges.

Was wondering about this topic too… in a 2-seater, are toddlers allowed in it just the same as in the back seat of a normal car? Just requiring a booster or whatever seat is used for their age/weight?In the Gen IV the passenger airbag turns off automatically if a lighter weight (<100lbs?) is detected in the car seat.
This is a Recaro Vivo car seat and with my 54lb daughter in it the passenger airbag shuts off.

At what age did you start strapping in the little ones? Is there a suggested/legal age/weight requirement?

I had my little man riding with me at 3 months. That was in my Gen III, I just turned off the airbag. Now with the Gen V, the sensor automatically turns the airbag off since it doesn’t detect enough weight. My recero baby seat wont fit backwards, but his Graco or whatever its called does just fine. If you are having a hard time with the bolsters on the vipers seat, just fold up a towel until the seat is flat enough for your baby seat.

Does anyone know of a booster seat that will fit well in the seats? I have a 5 year old who’s chomping at the bit to ride in “the race car”. I have other booster seats for him but the bases are way too wide to fit down in the seat…..they’ll cut the heck out of the bolster part of the base of the seat. I googled and found the one made by Simpson but $230 is pretty steep for something he’ll be out of in a year or two and without seeing it in person I’m still not sure if that would fit either.
Anybody with a specific make and model that they know will fit?
Thanks!
