How many sessions you run at each event? What pressures you running?

At our local track I find it hard to get on the gas as early as I would like coming out of the corner on the Corsa’s, but they have pretty good limits.

The tires are definately done when they start delaminating.

      Cool videos…

Thanks! If the day isn’t cut short by weather I generally get 5 20-30 minute sessions per day depending on which group I’m running with.

The general consensus on hot pressures for the Corsas is 32-33 psi.

      Hi all,

I was back at Pocono this weekend on what started as relatively cold day – 37 degrees ambient. It eventually warmed up to 60, but remained overcast before rain unfortunately cut the day short just as the timed portion was beginning. We were on the tight south course at Pocono and I managed to improve my best lap time by nearly a second since running that layout last season on the exact same set of tires, 59.39 vs 60.20, granted it was a much cooler day this year.

Here’s the interesting thing to me as I continue to learn as a driver: I THINK I reached the end of the grip life for my Pirelli Corsas and the right front actually just started to delaminate on what turned out to be my last session. I say this because I ran a number of 59.39 – 59.45s and felt as though there just wasn’t anymore traction available to get into the 58s. I was getting ABS intervention into the tightest corner on track and through most of the corners it started to feel and sound as though the tires had nothing left to give. This was my fifth event on them and they were used by the previous owner on track as well.

It’s just a matter of being maybe an intermediate level driver and second guessing if the tires are really done or you’re still making mistakes as a driver.

Here are a couple in-car videos.
