I think a friend of mine did this but I can’t remember how he turned the valet tune on and off. I’ll try to get that answer and report back.
Personally I don’t leave the keys and car with anyone else to limit the risk.

This is the first time it is been out of my hands, because it is in the shop. I am not worried about the shop, they have a very good reputation. I was thinking about the Valet situation, not that any Valet would think of thrashing a Viper! Guess I need to give them a bigger tip!

I talked to him last night. It was a custom tune that he had, but needed to load it first. Engine rpm limited to 3k, speed limited to 30 mph.
If you’re ever in a forced valet situation, here’s my suggestion. Give the valet a big tip and ask to leave the car up front, then take the keys with you. The restaurant won’t care to have a nice car sitting out front to attract attention and eyes will always be on it. When I was a valet briefly 8 years ago, $50 would have done the trick in the Midwest. Not sure what it would be these days or in other parts of the country.
Side note, the week before I started as a valet, one of the guys totaled a Maserati. Some valets are good and respect people’s cars, but some possibly not so much.

I dropped my 06 coupe off at the body shop tonight for some quick work. As I was driving out I was thinking Damn, I wish it had a valet mode, to limit the speed/rpm when out of my control.
Is this something that a tuner could set up on a special tune? This would require me loading the tune before handing it over to the reprobates parking cars. Or am I being paranoid?? What does everyone else do???
