It’s a passionate bunch those truck guys… Personally I didn’t mind trucks being here. At VOI9 I think we had a truck in our panorama in the back…
There’s no going back from here though…
Wait.. its not April fools day somewhere is it???
Also I’m not on the MEMO list… Help!

They have to accept them. Saw it this am…exactly. if they werent in trouble, they would not take them. their decision about trucks only highlights the VCA’s desperation.

Based on simple numbers; to pull in the cash flow that is now missing, VCA needs to diversify the product or appeal to a larger fan base. Some may look at this change as a good thing (almost every truck owner is a granted new member). But what does this mean to the ancillary? Does the magazine now get pages dedicated to trucks and their events? Are you going to create a forum/subforum that are truck only? Are you going to now create a director for truck and truck activities? Does VPA start buying truck parts for stock? These guys are not going to take the number and sit back. (Look at our own thread on the debate. You know that this was not going to stop at just a membership number. This was a hairpin turn with gravel and marbles waiting to happen)
This opened a larger can of worms for them that is not really going to be understood until a few months down the road.
Now back to my Yukon Cornelius imitation.

another reason IMO the voa should have let them insorry plum, but i have to disagree. Whitebeard made some great points why and i agree. dont the truck owners have their own forum somewhere anyway?

I’ve already been in touch with ViperJeff. They have already started the formation of the VTCoA. Viper Truck Club of America. He is getting the 501 paperwork done and already has a board set up and the regions are coming together. I told them if there was anything they needed, advice, contacts, etc. that we would be glad to help them.

Maybe someday both clubs can hold a regional rendezvous or something… -
Not sure if everyone got the memo, but there’s a new post over there accepting Viper Trucks. No doubt it comes from being desperate for members and serves to drive a wedge over here. Strategically, I think it’s a good move on their part, but they may wind up with as many Truck members as Viper members.
Just wanted all to know since there will likely be repercussions over here.
