The NY/CT VOA is hosting its annual Autocross and Skid Pad Day at Lime Rock Park and ALL VOA Members are invited!
Saturday August 4, 2018. 8:30am – 5pm
This is probably the best performance driving event for beginners anywhere in the Northeast for a few reasons –
-safer than a full road course, and less intimidating. Top speeds around 65-70mph, and ALL CAR CONTROL.
-serious seat-of-the-pants feel on this course – hard cornering and braking safely within your limits.
-TONS of seat time on track
-Skid Pad is available too if you want to mess with the Viper on a large wet surface
-Instruction and guidance is provided with ACR Steve as Chief Instructor
-the price is really good compared to most performance events because the VOA has such a good relationship with Lime Rock
and for more advanced drivers this is a really fun, laid back day that can get a little competitive. 🙂
-passengers are welcome on track, so bring your friends / spouse
-organized run groups by lap time so you will not feel ‘stuck in traffic’
-tune up your car control skills, dial in tire pressures, etc.
-5 minute sessions of flying laps on mini-road course, not single laps through cones.
-Lime Rock records lap times all year long, and invites the top 20 back at the end of the season. The NY/CT VOA region always makes up a good percentage of the fastest times for the whole year on a course that honestly favors smaller, lighter cars.
