In terms of quality, there is no real difference between any name brand belt and the OEM(chances are the OEM is a Gates or Goodyear anyway). I run Gatorbacks on my cars, but my only justification is “Just because”.

I use the Gatorback…they were OEM back in the day. Rock Auto has them.

Gates 7PK1973 for Gen 1 with aircon. Superb quality and very inexpensive.

Thanks guys! Looks like good to go with either OEM, Gates, Gatorback, etc. I have a great price on the Gatorback on sale right now so I think I will just pick it up. I know it is in the severe noise level (basically the cost of a couple of Happy Meals) considering the maintenance and performance upgrades I am performing but thought I would check anyway. Appreciate the advice!

Been awhile since I shopped for a new belt but figured since my car is now 18 years old and I am tuning it up, I should just go ahead and change it as it looks like the original is still on. My question is there really anything different between a high quality replacement like a Goodyear Gatorback belt and the Mopar OEM replacement belt? There is on cost as Gatorback is almost 1/2 price. What are you guys running for replacements?
