Also, thinking on the VCA style of having a centralized reference center for posters gone sour….. Would it be wise to have a sub section of the mod forum that is just a deposit place for info on people who have been reprimanded?
Basically, if you had an issue with someone, you start a thread and a few notes go in on the issue and if down the road we continue to have issues with someone, a quick search of that forum for the guys username in the thread title and bam, you have his history and if he has been already warned 15 times by 10 different mods.
Just thinking that’s all. Do what you want with the suggestion. 😀

VOA Basic Moderating Protocol
(A developing list)
First and foremost – Best not to do than to do (Shlockespeare). Whenever you find yourself having “moderation uncertainty”, leave and revisit a short time later. This tactic will allow for:
a) the offender to moderate him/herself,
b) other members to render the offender and/or the offender’s post moot and unworthy of your moderation prowess,
c) another moderator to do your job for you,
d) you to grab a beer or some grub,
e) you to return after a respite with a clearer, less infuriated mindset to be more certain of your intent.
Always FIRST approach members privately, rather than in the thread where their post is requiring your attention.
Always act in a reluctant manner, i.e., “I despise having to moderate and annoy you, but this post is causing some concern…” You hold the wand and therefore the offender’s post destiny, so why flaunt it?
Always give the offender an initial “benefit of doubt”. Folks get bent out of shape for the wrong reasons and often will moderate themselves and their post(s) if given a chance and a gentle “nudge”.
Note that you can add comments on the “infraction” page of a member’s profile. Use it to leave notes for yourself and other mods. WRONG, this area is viewable by the member! Do not leave notes here unless you want the reprimand to be forwarded the the member.
Always, notify the offender privately of what you have done … ALWAYS; regardless of how offensive the offender. Leave a PM with an explanation and advice that they can respond with any questions or comments they might have. Give them the opportunity to repent for their posting sin(s).
