So cool the Viper Racing League is back running at the Hastings, Nebraska ” Bucket List ” event. It makes the Viper Rendezvous even more exciting and for those I know who recently got NASA Racing Licenses, I would sure be in contact with Bob Strickland and jump into a VRL race!

Bumping this thread again. The entry count is inching toward 50 and there are roughly 15 slots left available to insure everyone gets plenty of track time without crowding.

There will be HPDE sessions for all skill levels with timing for safe grouping. The Viper Racing League will be running Time Trial and Race groups within their time allotments. Come on and joint up!

Just in case you are not on our e-mail list.   Here is what we sent out today.

      Dear Viper Owners:

We are only 3 months away from Viper Rendezvous XV! I am really looking forward to seeing you at the track soon. Considering we are three months out, we actually have three items to bring to your attention.

      First,

The vision for Viper Rendezvous is to bring fellow Viper owners together to enjoy their cars in their “natural environment” on the race track while also having a weekend where owners can meet old friends and make some new friends.

Considering that vision, we need your help growing the event. Please spread your Viper passion and invite a friend to join us. Currently we have about 15 openings for drivers. You may pass along this e-mail to your friends and acquaintances and invite them to join us at the track for Viper Rendezvous XV.

Here is a link to registration to share:

      REGISTRATION

      Second,

We will continue the tradition of a charity auction at the Saturday night banquet. We will be e-mailing you some information about the charity soon and as in past years, we ask that you bring along something that you would like to donate that you think another Viper owner would be interested in having for themselves. In the past we have had tires, Viper parts, posters, clothing, homemade viper memorabilia (viper signs, fire pit, etc.) , collectibles, and really anything you feel a fellow Viper owner would love to have. Please look for the e-mail for more details.

      CHARITY

      Third,

New for 2024 is a practice session on Thursday. This is a little less structured and a non-timed day which will give you a chance to reorient yourself to the track and dust off a few cobwebs. So, if you didn’t sign up for the practice day originally, you can modify your registration and get a little extra practice in on Thursday.

Finally, here is a link to our tentative schedule. See you all at the track!

      SCHEDULE

      Sincerely,

      Ryan Furstenau

I hope you folks noticed the number listed for the Viper Rendezvous because at number 15 it can state it is the longest running Viper Event of all time!  The Viper Rendezvous even eclipses some other long standing racing/HPDE at Motorsport Park Hastings, making it their ” Premier Track Weekend ” and if you have not put this on your ” Bucket List ” you need to and at a decade and a half what better time to make it. The fastest ” Door Slammer ” time at MPH is held by a Viper and we want to keep it, so those of you with super slithering Snakes need to see if you can better the mark or make sure it stay in Dodge’s hand ( whoops, Snakes don’t have hands, ha ).

As Ryan noted, Bob Strickland and the Viper Racing League will be running one of their 2024 Race/Time Trials , so if you want to have an official listing for a VRL time listing this can double up for that also if you want? Hope to see a bunch of you there as this event sells out ,but at present there are still spots open so don’t wait till the last minute like you can do with many events, sign up now to be part of the biggest Viper track spectacle in the US of A!!

It’s been a few years since I’ve attended.  What’s the closest airport to fly into (not the small municipal one)?

      Thanks

It was great to finally meet you Mike! The Rendezvous definitely has a lot of the old Viper Days camaraderie going and I’ll be back in a couple of years.
